Black and White Silicone-Modified Polyester Powders for Cold-Rolled Steel Appliance Trial Panels

Both powders have a median particle size (D50) of 32–40 µm. The supplier lists density at 1.42–1.50 g/cm³ for white and 1.45–1.52 g/cm³ for black. For 0.8 mm cold-rolled steel trial panels, the sheets specify phosphating/passivation, 50–60 kV corona spraying, a 50–60 µm dry film and a 15-minute hold once the part metal reaches 200 °C. Validate the actual assembly and separately confirm suitability for its intended contact conditions.

Overview

Compare the white and black trial powders

DAMEI’s two January 2025 technical sheets describe silicone-modified polyester trial powders for cold-rolled steel. Both specify a median particle size (D50) of 32–40 µm. The white powder has a listed density range of 1.42–1.50 g/cm³ and the black powder 1.45–1.52 g/cm³.

Set up the trial panel

The listed setup uses 0.8 mm cold-rolled steel with phosphating/passivation pretreatment, 50–60 kV corona application and a 50–60 µm dry film. Hold for 15 minutes after the metal reaches 200 °C. Record actual metal temperature and measured thickness. Validate the assembled part and its intended contact conditions separately.
