PPG’s October update puts procurement data in focus

On October 14, 2026, PPG published an industrial coatings blog update about its enhanced online powder coatings store. PPG’s October article reviews the redesigned platform launched in August 2026 for US customers.

PPG describes product filters, sample panels, small-batch and full-box options, favorite-product lists, and easier access to Technical Data Sheets (TDS) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Its current powder coatings store provides a practical example of bringing product discovery and supporting information into one purchasing journey.

For industrial buyers, the useful lesson extends beyond checkout convenience: a digital listing can support comparison, but an online image, availability indication or purchase option does not establish technical approval for a particular component or production line.

Start with the metal part and its service conditions

DAMEI’s indoor epoxy-polyester powder coating is intended for metal products in controlled interior environments. Typical applications considered during selection include appliance components, office furniture, shelving and electrical enclosures. The exact formulation, appearance and application conditions still require confirmation for the project.

Before requesting a quotation, identify the actual metal substrate, pretreatment, part geometry and service environment. Add the required color reference, gloss or texture, target film thickness and acceptance tests. If sunlight or exterior weathering is involved, reassess the coating family rather than extending an indoor specification automatically.

Use the DAMEI product range to frame that discussion. Product categories help establish an initial direction; they do not replace the formulation-specific information needed to approve a powder for your parts.

Read technical documents against the actual production line

Ask which TDS and SDS apply to the exact powder under consideration and check their revision dates. The TDS should guide the agreed application and cure conditions. The SDS addresses safe handling and associated hazards; it is not a report proving the finished part meets your performance requirements.

Confirm curing against the actual metal temperature reached by the workpiece and the required time at that temperature. Oven air temperature alone does not establish that a heavy enclosure, thin shelf or mixed load received the same cure. Record the line profile during a representative trial.

Discuss pretreatment, coating thickness, edges, recesses and reclaim practice alongside the powder specification. Review available technical resources, then agree which appearance, adhesion, impact, flexibility or chemical-resistance checks will define acceptance for the intended use.

Use physical samples to turn appearance into an agreed target

A screen image is a starting point for communication. A physical reference panel is more useful for agreeing color, gloss and texture because lighting, substrate and surface shape affect the result. Explore the powder coating catalog with those limits in mind.

Approve a laboratory panel and, where practical, a representative production part before committing to a larger order. Keep the accepted reference and record the agreed formulation and process conditions. The DAMEI technical guides collection can help you prepare for specification and sample approval discussions.

Close the information gaps before ordering

DAMEI’s sample and quotation discussion starts with your application requirements. Confirm the available documentation, sample arrangements, order quantity and delivery timing for the exact formulation and destination.

Send the substrate, finish reference, indoor service conditions, cure limits, expected volume and required tests through DAMEI’s contact page. A clear technical brief helps the supplier identify what can be quoted, what needs a sample and what must be validated on the coating line.
